Building upon the remarkable achievements of the prestigious UK Black Business Show X HSBC UK 25 Black Entrepreneurs to watch list in 2021, 2022 & 2023 we are delighted to present you with a fresh compilation of sensational Black entrepreneurs who are changing the landscape in the UK.

Black entrepreneurs continue to face significant challenges, many of which remain unresolved. Race should never be a barrier to success. HSBC UK x UK Black Business Show’s 25 Black Entrepreneurs to Watch List serves as an essential source of inspiration. It highlights the outstanding achievements of Black entrepreneurs, offering role models for emerging talents.

Celebrating its eighth year, the annual UK Black Business Show aligns with Black History Month, creating an inspirational hub for Black business owners and professionals from various industries. This dynamic event is steadfast in its mission to uplift underrepresented Black entrepreneurs and professionals. It has now become a pivotal part of UK Black Business Week—a ground-breaking event focused on empowering Black entrepreneurs, professionals, and allies within the community.

Nii Lartey and Ahmed Faid are the Co-founders of Dose of Society, a digital media company invested by Snapchat. With over 6 million followers and 9 billion views, Dose of Society is a trailblazer in authentic storytelling, partnering with brands such as Valentino, Netflix, and Spotify. Recently honoured as Forbes 30 under 30 recipients, Nii and Ahmed continue to inspire change through heartfelt conversations and impactful content.

Alison Burton & Natalie Duvall

Project Director & Creative Director of March Muses

March Muses, founded by two Croydon entrepreneurial mums, Alison Burton and Natalie Duvall, are the UK leaders in inclusive Christmas decorations. 

Motivated by their daughters’ inability to see themselves reflected in festive ornaments, they launched a range featuring Black angels and Black Santa baubles. Each piece is meticulously handmade, with careful attention to skin tone, hair design, and body shape. 

Their achievements include listings in Selfridges and Liberty London and securing £50,000 from investors Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden on BBC’s Dragons’ Den in 2022. 

In 2023, they signed a history making 5 year deal with supermarket giants Tesco to create and develop diverse Christmas decorations and year-round gifting products, including Mother’s Day, taking their brand to the masses. 

March Muses’ mission is to celebrate diversity by diversifying celebrations, ensuring everyone feels represented during the festive season and beyond.

Dr. Byron Cole

Global Business Strategist

Dr. Byron Cole is a Forbes featured, multi award winning global business strategist. He specialises in helping businesses grow to 7 figures while guiding owners to create passive and semi passive income streams through writing books, creating courses and becoming professional paid public speakers.

Candice continues to contribute to important dialogues, challenge norms, and promote positive change in the realm of diversity and representation.

Her holistic and exuberant online content has gained her a dedicated audience of 299k+ Instagram followers and 374k+ on TikTok.

Candice is a co-host of the smash-hit podcast Closet Confessions, which amassed over 3 million downloads and several sell-out shows in its first year of production.

Courtney Daniella Boateng and Renee Kapuku

Founders and Co-hosts of To My Sisters

Courtney Daniella Boateng and Renee Kapuku are two women on a mission – to see women win. The two women are the co-founders and co-hosts of To My Sisters, a leading community-powered women’s organisation and fastest-growing sisterhood. Starting as a hit podcast in 2020, TMS has since blossomed into a truly global community of young, enterprising and self-aware women with a mandate to change their lives. Through live events, retreats, resources, productions, and more, TMS has one mission – to inspire 1 million women across the globe to grow and glow together.

Danielle 'Ebonix' Udogaranya

Multi Award-Winning Games Consultant, content creator and multidisciplinary 3D artist

Danielle Udogaranya – fondly known as Ebonix – is a multi Award-Winning Games Consultant, content creator and multidisciplinary 3D artist. She is Founder of Evolotu, a consultancy focused on evolving cultural visibility within Games and Media, co-founder of Black Twitch UK which supports and empowers Black streamers in the UK and the first Black British woman to be a Twitch Partner and Ambassador.

Danielle taught herself to create video game assets, with a focus on black hairstyles due to lack of meaningful representation in games. Her work resonated with the gaming community, leading her to work directly with Electronic Arts on the addition of over 100 skin tones and black hairstyles to The Sims 4. She has become a celebrated advocate for diversity and representation in gaming, having been featured on Apple, BBC, The Guardian, and many more and consulted on award-winning gaming campaigns, including Play In Color, a collaboration with Dark & Lovely, which won 6 Telly Awards.

Danielle’s mission is to advocate, create space and generate greater, positive representation for Black people and POC within gaming.

David Olusegun

Co-Founder of Creative Control Ventures

David Olusegun is Co-Founder of CCV, a venture builder revolutionising the CPG industry by partnering with celebrities to develop innovative global brands. The first brand, Nala’s Baby, a natural skincare line for infants co-founded with Krept and Sasha Ellese, sold out within ten minutes of its launch. CCV’s second venture, SYPS, co-founded with rapper Aitch, offers flavoured sparkling water with zero sugar and calories, receiving acclaim for quality and taste.

With over a decade of experience in entertainment and media, David is known for his visionary strategy, P&L expertise, and creative communication. He has worked with Warner Music, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nike, and Sony Pictures. Honoured with multiple accolades, David is recognised as one of the Top 100 African Business Leaders in the UK, featured in Music Week’s 30 Under 30 list, and on Powerful Media’s Future Leader list, cementing his reputation as an industry trailblazer.

Emmanuel Eribo

Co-Founder and CEO of LØCI 

After graduating from Bath University with a BSC in Psychology Emmanuel spent 8 years working in the city on multiple trading floors at HSBC, Morgan Stanley & CitiGroup.

In 2008, Emmanuel Co-founded the brand, Butterfly Twists, the notorious ballet shoe brand fronted today by the likes of Catherine Zeta-Jones. As CEO Emmanuel guided the business to global success, selling over 2.7million pairs in 66 countries around the world, opening 30+ monoband stores and achieving tens of millions of pounds in sales. The rapid expansion of Butterfly Twists spring-boarded Emmanuel from a kitchen table in Shepherd’s Bush into the world of mass manufacturing – an industry which they knew little about. Each journey to the Far East forced Emmanuel to confront the realities of overproduction and environmental damage caused by the fashion industry. Standing in a warehouse the size of a football stadium with 70,000 pairs of shoes in front of him, the idea for Emmanuel’s next venture was planted. Developing a new, more progressive shoe brand that would champion change in the industry and operate with 100% sustainability – LØCI was born.

George Mpanga (George the Poet)

Spoken Word Artist and Podcaster

George the Poet is a London-born spoken word performer of Ugandan heritage. His innovative brand of musical poetry has won him critical acclaim both as a recording artist and social commentator and seen his work broadcast to billions of people worldwide. In 2019, his audio offering ‘Have You Heard George’s Podcast?’ won a prestigious Peabody Award and 5 Gold British Podcast Awards, including the highly-coveted Podcast of the Year. More accolades followed in the years to come, including an NME Award, two Gold ARIAS, three New York Festival Awards and more. In 2021 The University of London presented George with an honorary doctorate in literature. George is now embarking on a PhD at UCL’S Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, under the supervision of the institute’s founder, Mariana Mazzucato, and Reader in Educational Leadership At UCL’s Institute Of Education, Dr. Karen Edge. His research focuses on the socio-economic potential of black music.

Hayley Mulenda

International Speaker, Author, Consultant, Change-Agent

Hayley Mulenda Record is a Multi-Award Winning International Speaker who works with some of the world’s foremost organizations and institutions. Her story has touched millions, as she shares her journey of turning pain into purpose and the power of authenticity. She has collaborated with notable entities like Microsoft, the University of Cambridge, Google, JP Morgan, NAS Dubai, IBM, and many more. Hayley has delivered keynote speeches on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Houses of Parliament, Oslo Spektrum, and Wembley Arena.

Henrie Kwushue

Presenter and DJ

Hailing from Southeast London, Henrie Kwushue is a DJ, presenter and broadcaster best known for her work on Spotify’s Who We Be Talks podcast, KISS Fresh evening show, as well as her incredible contribution to the popular No Signal Radio station.

A polymath, Henrie also runs her own production company, HTK Productions, and has produced two shows, the acclaimed ‘Is Your Area Changing’ – a docu-series focused on the topic of gentrification in London neighborhoods, and ‘Untold Stories’ a web series about personal stories where guests discuss what has made them who they are today.

Henrie’s ascent into the public eye has been rapid; and she has carefully, and creatively, carved out her own unique lane in British DJing and presenting. She has already graced the stages and dancefloors for the likes of Puma, Adidas, Nike, Nandos, the NFL, and has been covered by media titles including The Guardian, Dazed, Complex UK, gal-dem and Glamour Magazine.

Ibrahim is a digital creative entrepreneur and co-founder of GUAP, which has grown from the world’s first video magazine to becoming a multi platform youth media brand, covering all aspects of creativity and culture. GUAP produces content (both in print & online), can boast an events arm, a podcast studio, a youth creative agency and is responsible for some of the most prolific moments in the culture calendar.

His accolades span across being an award-winning entrepreneur, speaker and investor. Joanna Jarjue

Founder, Political Commentator and Board Member

Joanna was a BBC Apprentice Final Five candidate in 2017. Her background and experience are in marketing as an Agency Development Manager on behalf of Google, an independent digital marketing consultant and currently as Co-Founder of digital marketing agency ‘So 93’ in Leeds. Along with her team, she specialises in helping businesses grow through Google Ads, Social Media Ads and Video Animation. She remains a weekly current affairs commentator for national television and radio broadcasters – With credits including BBC News ‘The Papers’, Sky Newspaper Review, and ITV’s Good Morning Britain and This Morning. With a passion for civil society as well as business, Joanna is a board member for Impact Education Multi-Academy Trust, English Speaking Board International and is a Goodwill Ambassador for water poverty charity Pump Aid.

Joanna is currently developing the women’s workwear venture originally pitched on The Apprentice, but this time powered by tech. The platform will curate workwear pieces from familiar brands for a one-stop shop to easily find the best workwear to suit most industries and professional occasions, from business casual to business formal.

Kameese Davis is a trailblazing entrepreneur with a relentless commitment to revolutionising beauty standards and hair care through her company, Nylah’s. Fuelled by a passion for diversity and a desire to provide clean, plant-based alternatives for textured hair, Kameese founded Nylah’s, a hair care product line that has become a beacon of inclusivity and sustainability.

Kazeem Alli- Balogun

Property Developer & Founder of Property By Kazy

Kazeem Alli-Balogun is a seasoned property developer and founder of the PBK Podcast and PBK Community, with over 10 years of experience buying, selling and renovating property.

After sharing his journey on social media in 2020 he has now amassed a following of over 70,000 people across social media platforms and has become a recognised voice in the property world, particularly among ethnic minorities and aspiring property investors.

His podcast, the PBK Podcast, serves as a vital platform for discussing the challenges and opportunities within the property market, aiming to educate and inspire a new generation of property enthusiasts.

Kazeem’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is further reflected through his leadership of the PBK Community which has become a cornerstone for those seeking guidance and encouragement through their investment journey.

Kenny Imafidon

Entrepreneur, Author, Social Commentator

Kenny Imafidon is an entrepreneur, author, and social commentator. He is the co-founder & Managing Director of ClearView Research, an agency that specialises in research, strategy, and engagement projects focused on diverse and underrepresented communities. In 2022 he was featured in Forbes annual 30 under 30 list for Social Impact.

His debut book ‘That Peckham Boy’ was recently published by Penguin Random House. Kenny is a trustee of several charities such as BBC Children in Need. Alongside Lord Michael Hastings CBE, he is also the co-founder of My Brothers Keeper, a voluntary group that supports men (mainly serving long-term sentences) in 6 prisons across the UK.

Michaela Jeffery-Morrison

Co-founder of Flake Blake

Mike Williams is the Co-founder of Flake Bake LTD, the largest producer of authentic handmade Jamaican patties in London. After completing his undergrad in Economics and Politics and an MSc in Business at Warwick University, Mike joined
forces with his father to establish their bakery in Peckham. Twelve years later, Flake Bake supplies over 20,000 handcrafted patties each week to local takeaways, restaurants and street food vendors.

Mike’s hard work and dedication have propelled Flake Bake to win Channel 4’s Aldi Next Best Thing 2024. Upon securing their contract with Aldi, Flake Bake sold over 100,000 of their famous Jamaican Beef patties in less than 10 days. Flake Bakes’ success has garnered widespread media attention, with features in publications such as The Grocer and The Independent, as well as coverage on ITV News, Channel 4 News, BBC London News and BBC Radio London.

Since launching her career in 2016 Rachael has since brought her vibe to stages internationally with memorable appearances at Wireless, #Merky Festival, Strawberries & Creem, Berlin Carnival and more. Whilst supporting national tours & events with Koffee, Burna Boy, Stormzy, Stylo G, Kranium and Shaggy; which included commanding huge crowds at O2 arena.

Quickly becoming a household DJ name mixing sounds of the homegrown UK scene, Dancehall, R&B and more; Rachael has begun to join the worlds of music, fashion & collaborating with global brands including BOSS, Nike, Puma, Clarks, Salomon, Wray & Nephew & more.
